Erechthias hemiclistra (Meyrick, 1911). Endemic. Local.
Adults are on the wing in September and October where tussock grasses (Chionochloa ssp) are found.
Hudson, (1928) reared this moth from caterpillars and cocoons in the flower stems of Chionochloa conspicua (Hunangamoho) at Makara. This is a tall tussock grass about 1 m tall with broad green leaves.
