What

House Sparrow (Passer domesticus)

Observer

kaupunkilinnut

Date

May 5, 2024

Description

I think there was short garden warbler like song burst. Immediately afterwards this house sparrow appeared to be imitating the quality of its voice, especially first notes I didn't record. Here the voice sounds maybe even more like wheatear or thrush nightingale. Nevertheless it's not typical house sparrow voice though how the voice is used is. [during 3-4,rec] House sparrows can sing other birds tunes, but usually imitating is like "tasting" or playing with the sound quality, like here.

Description

Lying still at ground, but was alive and eagerly (and defensively) grabbed to towel. I tried to find suitable flower (one too small and one too deep) and seemed to be most comfortable with colt's foot where I left it. Was quite active on foot after waking up (despite of taking nap at bigger flower) but didn't try any flying during this short time.

Yes. I wonder if it would be best if this field focused on injury and the other on developmental deformities and abnormalities.

Posted by jon_sullivan almost 8 years ago

I was thinking of merging the two, but instead decided to try and use the two for the different aspects (perhaps a little strained as some deformities might be caused by an earlier infection or injury). Perhaps we don't need 'Anomaly' as part of the field name here anymore.
